The temperature control of the extrusion is crucial for the extrusion speed and profile quality. Too high temperatures cause cracks in the material, while too low block temperatures increase die wear. Pyrometers with strong lenses and highly sensitive photodiodes allow an exact and contact-free temperature measurement of the block, the die and the aluminium strand.
